the cat whisperer and i dusted off the old tradition of friday night band night. we met up with an old work acquaintance and a couple of her friends, and i actually had a pretty decent time overall. it took a while, but once i started feeling the music (after being pissed that they cut off the halos-saux game), i livened up. CW (steve) pounded the beers a little too hard, a little too quickly, and he was down for the count way earlier than expected, and our mutual friend went walkabout and socialized, leaving me on a limb with the 2 other girls that showed up. not my strong suit, as everyone knows, but i pulled it off. we talked for a long time about music, movies, books, and baseball (i did most of the baseball talk).
before i go on, is it the new thing to exchange numbers with everyone you meet within an hour? i barely knew everyone's name and the next thing i know, everyone is saving numbers in their phones. if that's the new deal, i missed that memo. what else have i missed?
anyway, we ended up closing down the pool hall. band played great. had a really good night out. the next day, the dodgers played (i'm sorry, beat) the cubs, and apparently the girl was paying attention b/c she texted me (from the phone number exchange earlier) about the game being on and later to congratulate me on the win. since then, we've swapped some messages and a few emails today, and i've even laughed at times, but i'm not sure if i'm interested in taking any new applications. we'll see.
not much else going on, other than the baseball playoffs. tonight is rays/white saux and later it's halos/red saux, which i'm sure you're all riveted about. anyway, y'all have blessed days.
