ok, so i rarely post. it's not from a lack of things going on, but the things that are going on are not things i want out there for public consumption. but for those of you joining us late, or just simply not in the inner loop, everything is ok, so don't take the silence as an indication that i've gone under the radar. i mean, i suppose i could create a raw blog, but then you get into the hassle of who gets viewing rights and all that, and if you'd have access to my raw blog, you would already know the details i'd put there anyway, so it's a moot point.
so, as for the generics, i'm behind on my book list, but i'm reading some interesting stuff. finished 'all the king's men' and got pissed at the ending, but otherwise, it was a good book until that point. it was long (600 pages or so), so i'm counting it as two books.
then i read 'brothers' which discusses the relationship between JFK and RFK around the time of the bay of pigs through the assassination of JFK and then what RFK did until his own assassination. while it didn't advocate a particular conspiracy theory, it painted the backdrop of the political machine and how JFK wasn't liked by the joint chiefs, mafia, cia, cuban exiles, etc, and how they were all in bed with each other. also, it had a very interesting discussion of the dynamic between JFK and castro/che guevara , as well as khrushchev. it raised more questions, so i have some other books to read.
now i'm reading 'room full of mirrors'-- a biography of jimi hendrix. i also picked up a biography of john lennon ('john') written by his first wife, cynthia. i also picked up 'the dharma bums', but i'm saving that for my florida trip in may, along with 'fear and loathing in las vegas'.
so that's where i am at the moment. resume your lives.
